Lets try this again......

Yes I know it has been close to a year.. At first I thought I could go back and play catch up, but that's not likely to happen so I will just start from today.....

We had a little family fun day yesterday seeing how there ways no school or work.. Thank you Mr King! so we kicked it as a little family. Watched a few movies, went to lunch, then off to classic skating, ice cream and then back home for one more movie and then off to bed....

FYI: life keeps being good to us :)

Baby, Baby , Baby... FOOD

So one of my BFF's makes her own baby food. And I being the domestic goddess I am said hey I can do that. I must say it is so easy and kinda fun. And Miss Ele loves it too. So that's a bonus.
I do it about once a mouth and get about 40 2oz jars of food. Then I just pop them in the freezer and we are good to go. I must say I feel a little like Maratha but not as mean :)
We get a bountiful basket (www.bountifulbaskets.org) 2 times a month and I just use whatever fruit and Veggies from that I can for her food. Its cheap and works out great

A Major Award

In my many years I have never won to anything. (unless you count Danny!!) Never a spelling bee, coloring contest , Prom Queen.
Until now............

That's right. The blue ribbon. Our ward had a bake off and I made little Lemon Tarts. "Little Ele's" They were a hit. I am not a fan of lemon at all but Danny loves lemon. I used his moms pie crust recipe and a lemon curd I got from my sister in law.
I know its a little silly but I was so excited you would have thought I won Prom Queen. Zack came right home and hung the ribbon on the fridge. It was a great moment for this little Bird family!

Kinda feel bad....

I had the biggest mom moment last night. I had made a wonderful new dish for dinner last night (thank you Jen) I felt like a chef at a fine Italian restaurant.

The boy who has been know to be a picky eater has been trying hard to eat what ever we fix. (Yes we may or may not be giving him a check off list that he can put a bird sticker by if he eats all his dinner.) So as we were eating this delightful dish Zack just couldn't do it. He was trying but keep gaging at the 1/4 of a mushroom and 1/8 of tomato that was mixed in with the chicken and pasta. Long story short I made him sit at the table and eat it all. When he saw me taking a picture and laughing he started to cry. That only made me laugh harder. I know I am mean mom.

When Danny got home from work and ate he asked Zack what he thought of dinner. Zack told him how great it was and he liked it a lot. So Danny said "you can have some of mine if you want? ""oh no I am OK. but it was way good!" Love him.

I did have a flash back of being about his same age sitting at the counter eat cold baking squash. Oh it was so bad. And Zack was right about the gaging you don't mean to your stomach just makes you do it...

* I 'm not that mean. Notice what he is drinking?? Yep left over from our trip to Maceys.

Here we go....

Well Here we are. A new year new me..Well we will see I wanted to go back and post all the pictures from the last 5 months but that's going to take way to much time. So I am just starting with today and maybe I'll throw some of the old pics in here and there.
So this is what we have been up to.

Helen: I cant believe she is already 5 months old. It has gone so fast. She is such a fun little thing. She is all girl. She is happy happy or sad as could be. She loves her baby food and is plumping right up :)

Me: Same old thing. I am loving being home. I miss my friends from work, but there is no place Id rather be then home with my little family. i am lucky that Danny is such a hard worker and that I am able to stay home.

Danny started a new job right after Ele was born. Its called Whole Sale Match. He is enjoying it and is happy to still be working with at least one of his brothers. He also ran his first Marathon. He did great :)

Zack is loving school. It is crazy to me that he is already in 2ND grade, and half way done. He is such a boy. All he ever talks about it is sports. Football, Basketball, Baseball, you name it. Oh yes and we love love us a little Jimmer :)
He is such a great big brother. Helen lights up when he walks in the room or holds her.. It

So there is the quick version of what we have been up to. One of my many goals this year is to be a better Blogger so we will see...
